"Rav" Day

It's an annual tradition and I was the guest of honor this year....the "Italian side" of Doug's family gathered to make mass quantities of ravioli and spaghetti for the holiday season. It is as much about family as it is about food! Everyone showed up with their own ball of seriously kneaded dough and Grandma pinched and poked and carefully selected the year's "Best Dough" winner. The special apron gives a family member bragging rights for one year. There were no slackers in this kitchen, everyone had a job...I was a "baller" and according to my team we "kicked butt"!

The wine flowed, the flour flew, and the finale was a fabulous Italian meal of homemade pasta and family specialties (British term for specialty).
I can't think of a better Christmas tradition!

This looks like soo much fun! If you can't be making pasta in Italy...you need to be in Weymoth.

What an awesome experience that would be--hope you have a lot of pasta dishes in the future for the holidays!

Freezing here in London--literally!
